 Welcome To Lilleshall Minimize

Welcome to lilleshall.org

After 7 years of being purely a Scout Group website, we are now retiring the Scouts aspect to another part of the site accessed from above. Eventually the whole of the scout side will be retired and the website closed down completely. Individual entries for myself are being moved to MySpace at http://eddiehulme.spaces.live.com/ where I will have all my personal detail. Its just that to try and keep a website up to date and current is now a chore!

I have also created a MySpace area at http://www.myspace.com/eddiehulme as eventually I will shut down my own hosting of my website in favour of space on these free sites. It saves the hassle of keeping machines up and running. I even have a http://blog.myspace.com/eddiehulme If you really want to know about Windows Vista take a read!!!!

Happy New Year 2006

New for 2006 - Blogs and Forums - any registered user can now have his own blog and contribute to the forums - for free. All content must be UK legal and will be subject to moderation. If you want a forum added just leave a note in the general forum for the administrator.

We have also moved the Onthehill walking aspects of the site to a brand new website so you can keep track of what Eddie and the crew are doing on the hills: http://www.onthehill.org.uk. Eddie and several friends have completed a grueling 85 mile hike of Hadrian's Wall national trail with full backpacks weighting in at approx 20kg, pictures and story can be found at http://www.onthehill.org.uk/Home/tabid/76/Default.aspx

The Shropshire Scouting Portal is now based at http://www.salopia.org - here you can post messages, view and upload scouting pictures, send messages and discuss ev

Lilleshall Village is the home of Scouting in Lilleshall, Muxton, and Donnington Wood, East Telford, Shropshire, United Kingdom.

We are a 30 minute walk through the beautiful countryside of Shropshire to Lilleshall Abbey and Lilleshall Hall, the National Sports Centre - both of which are actually not in Lilleshall Village itself. We meet in the old Mens Institute that was given over to the Youth of the local community under a Trust, many years ago and is now called the Youth Centre. However, it is now virtually exclusively used by the Scouts and Guides of the area. Despite the National Sports Centre being close and there being hundreds of houses within the area, we are the only Youth facility in the area.

 Hulme Family Tree Minimize

From the main menu you are linked to the genealogy pages of the Hulme family tracing the ancestors of the webmaster. Currently this goes back to Richard Janion who was christened in St Lawrence Church, Frodsham, and who married Ann Janion. I have the orginal family bible of Kerfoot Jannion ( note the spelling - Kerfoot spelt his name with two n's which is why a whole lineage is missing from some people's family trees ). Included in this family bible I have the original plans of the Janion Family Burial Ground and I also have Richard Jannion's last will and testement trust amendment. I really need to check official records as I this trust document, hand written by a Liverpool Solicitor handling the Jannion Trust of properties and farms in the Runcorn area and the spelling of Janion is 'Jannion'. Also the family bible listing the Jannions has two n's. In addition, I have a plan of the Jannion burial ground in the church which has two n's. I think a trip to Runcorn to check this is required. As I only like an hour away its worth a visit. I am also related to the Caldwell's and I have an original photograph held by my Grand Mother Ada Blanche Hulme ( nee Haney ) who resided in 1962 at 31c Russell Rd, Kensington, London W14 and she has written on the reverse of the photo - Grand Uncle Rev Father Caldwell. A scan of this is on this website below.
